Territory Sales Representative

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, results-oriented Territory Sales Representative to join our growing team. Must love design and be great at managing time and resources to build successful client relationships. This full-time position is based at our Toronto corporate office with travel as required.

The Territory Sales Representative reports to the Vice President of Sales and achieves maximum sales profitability, growth and account penetration within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and/or related services.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes, sells, and secures orders from existing and prospective customers using a relationship-based approach
  • Regularly visits and trains current customer profile
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and strives to build relationships with prospective customers within their assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services
  • Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective customers’ value to the organization. Researches sources for developing prospective customers and for information to determine their potential. Creates and manages a customer value plan for existing customers highlighting profile, share and value opportunities
  • Plans and organizes personal sales strategy by maximizing the Return on Time Investment for the territory/segment
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers
  • Expedites the resolution of customer issues
  • Coordinates sales effort with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups
  • Supplies management with oral and written reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas
  • Participates in trade shows and conventions
  • Other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post Secondary education would be an asset, but a combination of education and work experience will be considered
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience, preferably in the furniture industry
  • Must be able to travel to the US and/or Canada to visit clients and prospects min. twice a month
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite is a must
  • Working knowledge of Excel is a must
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must have a valid credit card
  • Must have a valid passport for travel into the United States
